We are located on a farm in a small town in Washington State called Quilcene, which is about 2 hours from Seattle and about 45 minutes to Port Townsend. All our kittens are raised underfoot and as part of the family. We are a new cattery and currently only have one couple, our beautiful Tessa and Alexander.

While living on a farm gave me contact and experience with many different animals, cats where always my first love. At the age of 6 I join our local cat 4-H with my first kitten, a longhair mixed breed named Snuggles. I was one of the youngest in my 4-H to ever get to go to the state fair and my first year I took first place in type with my lovely cat Snuggles. Not only did 4-H teach me about all kinds of cats it is through cat 4-H that I discovered the Turkish Van breed while working on a project. I was fascinated by a cat that loved water so much that it was deemed the "swimming cat", especially since I was always under the impression that cats hated water.

I met my first Turkish Van at a CFA cat show where I met a couple who bred Turkish Vans in Idaho. The cat's name was Potato and I not only fell in love with how gorgeous he was but with how much character he had. How he would use his paws like hands and pick things up with them to put it in his mouth and carry them around. It was from this same couple that I received my first Van. His name was Briar and he was the most amazing cat. He enjoyed socializing with the family and lazing about on the back of our seats and on top of our bird cages. I think he enjoyed our birds because while he never tried to hurt them he loved to lounge on top of their cage and dangle his paws in front of them while they went about their business. Also true to their nature he loved to play in and with water.

It was many years after Briar passed that I looked into getting another Van simply because I love the breed so much. It was because of this love that I decided to start breeding them so I could share this relatively unknown breed with others. The more I learn about this breed the more amazed I am with them. My goal is to be able to help preserve their breed and bring awareness of their breed to other people who will enjoy just how amazing they are as much as I do.
